What if all the marks were quilting?

Very busy investigating the nature of line. The first is my ‘control’; the methodology I’ve been using for my Swimmers series. Others are art journal samples comparing that to hand-quilting.

What is essential? I broke a copy of yesterday’s piece down further and further until it became so abstracted that the focal point was lost to determine what was really essential to this design. The swimming cap!

The next piece in the Swimmers series. I am seeking to break the swimmer into her essential parts and identify the key design elements I will take forward.
