Another stitch sample. #365ChallengePostcards
Another stitch sample. #365ChallengePostcards
This is so much fun, just had to do another! #365ChallengePostcards
Directly following from yesterday’s painting. This time, completely abstracted, the lobes of the orchid are circles (hand-painted silk organza), the lines on the petals are seed stitch. The palette is identical. Really, these two pieces are a pair. #365ChallengePostcards
Painting the orchid has been fascinating over the last week. Careful observation reveals that its amazing copper colour is due to the interaction of yellow petals with ‘orchid’ purple. Today I painted specifically with the idea of extracting the colours with thread and mixing them. #365ChallengePostcards
A natural progression; wanted to try leaving the gaps today. A variation on yesterday. #365ChallengePostcards
Further abstraction of yesterday’s piece. #365ChallengePostcards
An experiment today. An abstraction of the tiny lines that make up the overall pattern on the orchid I’ve been painting. Watercolour, silk and cotton threads. #365ChallengePostcards
Another Stitch sample. It will be so useful to have this collection when I am stuck for ideas. #365ChallengePostcards
Another stitch sample. Really fond of this one. Falling, shattering. #365ChallengePostcards
First in a series of stitch experiments: #365challengepostcards
