Gravitas

My response to the vast, overwhelming forces at work in the world. Gravity becomes metaphor for climate collapse, the rise of authoritarianism, corporate over-reach: an invisible force, ever-present, inescapable.

Gravitas* draws upon the celestial language of gravitational pull — stars, planets, orbits, distance — to explore psychological weight and the tension between vastness and fragility.  Small forms sit against painted voids, suspended in imbalance.

I hope this work invites reflection and foreboding in equal measure.

(*originally Harmonices Mundi, Music of the Spheres, but it took a dark psychological turn as the work developed)
