I cut a lino block yesterday, as I needed to make some birthday cards for January. I had 2022 very much on my mind, and decided butterflies were a perfect metaphor for the new year: that we all come out of our cocoons soon, a new start, new life.
So the lino prints became my focus for today. A splatter of watercolour, a background of wrapped thread, and stitching around the margin to hold it all together. Can’t resist stitching!
I also made one for my daughter. Her flat has a red/black/white colour scheme.
Not sure which I prefer.
